A GROUP of friends who grew up together in Corringham through the seventies and eighties reunited today to recreate a picture from their past.

The idea was thought up by Dave Arnett, one of just two of the eight 'originals' in the old picture.

Dave explained the plan: "A few of us used to live in Abbotts Drive near Corringham town centre and I still have a picture we took in the alley where we used to meet up.

"Some 42 odd years on, I came up with the idea of getting together again and managed to track everyone down. They were all up for it and we will be having a reunion meeting in the Bisash to talk about the old days - and hopefully make some more special memories.

"We are scattered now, just two of us still live in Corringham but it will be great to be back together, especially at the Bikash which was smaller then when we used to go there as well."
