FRIENDS of Aveley and Kenningtons Parks had their first litter pick of the year last weekend in Usk Road Park on the Kenningtons Estate Aveley.

A member of the group said: "Although there were just a few volunteers this time they were pleased to report they still managed to fill some bags with litter and amongst their finds was the base of a divan bed, a motorbike frame and some old Thurrock Council recycling boxes.

"During our litter pick even the wildlife, a lonely fox came out to see what all the fuss was about".

The group would also like to remind dog walkers in the park to please pick up after their dogs as the amount of dog poo in the park was shocking. Their next litter pick will be in Aveley Rec on Sunday 23 February 10am till Midday all welcome.
