AN 18-year-old gang member has pleaded guilty to breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order.

Shodiq Fasasi, of Teviot Avenue, South Ockendon was issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order in July this year.

The conditions of his order included not associating or communicating with a select group of people, not owning more than one mobile phone, not entering Grays unless supervised and not owning drug paraphernalia.

The order was enforced for three years, but last week Fasasi was arrested on suspicion that he had breached these conditions. He was charged with four counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order and after appearing at Basildon Crown Court, pleaded guilty to all offences.

He will be sentenced on 28 October.

PC Mason Doyle said "Gang crime is not welcome in Essex and we will use all measures at our disposal to prevent and tackle gang-related and drug-related crime.

"Criminal Behaviour Orders will be enforced if we believe that an individual is likely to commit criminal activity.

"Fasasi demonstrated a complete disregard for his order, breaching it just weeks after it was enforced."
