Garden will once again host Holocaust service

THURROCK will once again be marking International Holocaust Memorial Day with a service in Grays.

It will take place at the Herbert E. Brooks Memorial Rest Garden on the junction of Palmer's Avenue and High View Avenue in Grays, where a permanent Holocaust memorial is located.

The multi-faith service, which features contribution from local schoolchildren, will start at 11am.

The garden, established in 1933, was created in memory of Herbert E Brooks - a senior figure in the cement industry, a public servant in Thurrock and Essex and a local historian.
