Get creative in the build up to jubilee with a series of events in Thurrock

THURROCK-based arts organisation Arts Outburst with funding from Stronger Together, Thurrock, is launch Thurrock's Great Big Jubilee Tea Dance Party with a series of free workshops for residents to attend and try something new!  

Kicking off on May Day (Monday 2 May) you can join in with Maypole Dancing in Grays Town Park and stay for a cup of tea and cake at the café. The event runs from 11am to 1pm and is suitable for families.

 Creative Blast at the Thameside Complex will be hosting dance sessions on Fridays throughout May, starting with Line Dancing on Friday, 6 May, Bollywood on 13 May and Dance Fitness on 20 May. These sessions run from 2.00-4.00pm and refreshments will be served.

If dancing is not your thing, why not go along to the craft workshops where you can design and make bunting triangles to add to the celebration bunting which will be used as decoration for the Tea Dance?

These will be held at Creative Blast Studios at the Thameside on Monday, 9 May from 4.00-6.00pm and Friday 13 May from noon to 2pm.

Saturday, 21 May is the date for Thurrock's Great Big Tea Dance Party, at the Civic Hall in Grays. It will run from 3 to 6pm when an afternoon filled to the brim with music, performances, dance sessions for all ages and abilities topped off with an afternoon tea is proimised.

Creative Blast director Daryl Branch said: "We are excited to be able to present Thurrock's Great Big Jubilee Tea Dance Party and the workshops for the people of Thurrock. People of all ages and abilities can come along and join in with as many of the workshops as they like and of course come along with their families to the event on the 21 May, all for free! We would like to thank Stronger Together Thurrock for their support in funding this event and look forward to celebrating with you all"
