ONE of Thurrock's most popular fundraising events is to return after a two year break due to the covid pandemic.

The Rotary Club of Mar Dyke Valley's cycle marathon, which has raised many tens of thousands for local good causes over the past two decades, will be back on Sunday, 12 June.

The event starts and finishes at Blackshots Civic Hall and participants will have the choice of taking part in three distances, seven, 21 or 42 miles.

The marathon will start at 9.30am and registration will be open before that on the day – or you can sign up in advance via the event website or by downloading and submitting a form. You can also collect a form from the office of Daybreak Windows at 7A Ward Avenue, Grays RM17 5RF.

There will be trophies for individuals and teams raising the most money and all entrants will be entered into a draw for a £100 voucher from event sponsors Decathlon.
