A CALL went out this morning for council gritters to turn out to a road where articulated lorries are stuck on sheet ice.

HGVs have been unable to get in or out of Wharf Road this morning (Monday, 8 February) in Stanford-le-Hope because the road is so slippy.

Some grit was brought to the scene to try and free some stuck artics but more is needed.
