A THURROCK village school has been boosted by a donation that will help it set up a shop - and increase learning opportunities for pupils.

The Amazon fulfilment centre in Tilbury has donated £1,500 to East Tilbury Primary School which will be used to set up its preloved uniform shop, including making repairs to the unit that houses it.

And cash will be spent on new books and teaching devices.

Kate Fogarty from the school said: "On behalf of everyone here, I would like to extend a big thank you to Amazon for this donation. The donation will help ensure our pupils are given the best opportunities to learn."

Tilbury fulfilment centre general manager Carlos Guijarro Benito said: "Amazon is passionate about supporting the education of young people and we're pleased to make this donation to the staff and pupils at East Tilbury."
