THE coordinator of a charity that combats loneliness and isolation for the borough's older folk has expressed her thanks to the volunteers and supporters that keep it going.

Thurrock Nub News regularly covers the activities of Re-engage, most recently a weekend of remembrance commemoration.

The activities could not happen without local community support and coordinator Loraine Coleman has highlighted just one of many heliers, saying: "Thank you to our lovely Re-engage volunteer Maggie Whitlock for her amazing fund raising selling her hand made beautiful items on her craft stall for Re-engage Thurrock at our weekly tea parties.

"Thank you to our lovely tea party guests for their handmade crafts too for Maggie to sell.

"Maggie has exceeded her target of £500, what a fabulous achievement. Maggie you worked so hard to raise this fabulous amount thank you from everyone at Re-engage.

"Thank you to everyone who has bought craft items and thank you also to Lewis, Magggie's grandson for helping Maggie every week."

Loraine has also expressed thanks to staff and customers at the Tesco Lakeside store, saying: "Their support and recent very generous donation has enabled us to buy lovely Christmas presents for all our tea party guests.

"We are so very grateful and thank you for your thoughtfulness, kindness and your continued support over the last five years."
