Gifts in memory of much-loved Wendy distributed at hospital

FAMILY and friends of a Thurrock woman whose life was cut short by Covid-19 have paid a visit to Basildon Hospital to distribute more than £3,000 worth of gifts to staff and wards raised in her memory.

Wendy Morton from Chadwell St Mary was just 57 when she passed away at the hospital recently, despite the best efforts of staff.

Thurrock Nub News told her story here and gave details of a fundraising page set up in her memory.

It proved extremely popular and Wendy's daughter Aimee, together with family and friends, visited several wards at the hospital yesterday (Saturday, 15 May) to share the gifts and say thanks in person for the care Wendy received.

"It was a very emotional visit but we are so grateful for everything the hospital did for mum and to all those people who so very generously made a donation in her memory. It's lovely to know she was so well-loved and highly thought of," said Aimee.
