IT has been confirmed that a child was injured following a collision in a congested part of Grays yesterday (Thursday, 31 March) at the end of the school day.

There has been considerable concern locally about the problems of traffic at school opening and closing times on Bradleigh avenue and Ward Avenue in Grays where there are a number of schools in close proximity.

Yesterday's incident happened in Bradleigh avenue. a statement from the East of Engalnd ambulance Srevice says: "We were called to Bradleigh Avenue in Grays just after 3.30pm yesterday following reports that a child had been hit by a car.

"An ambulance was called to the scene and transported the girl to Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital for care."

Traffic congestion around school opening and closing times in the area , with parents and carers dropping off children and parkign dangerously, has long been a problem in the area, as this report from last year shows.
