Grays disturbance investigated

THURROCK Police are investigating a disturbance which took place this afternoon (Monday, 6 October) in Grays.

Officers were called to Cromwell Road at around 1.35pm to reports of a man entering a shop seeking assistance.

He told staff he had been chased by a suspect, falling over and suffering some minor injuries as he fled.

A police statement said: "We're aware of some online commentary suggesting this incident is a stabbing – we would like to clarify that this is not the case.

"Our officers swiftly attended and are continuing enquiries.

"Alternatively, you can call us on 101.

"Please cite reference: 42/144237/25."
