Gridlock after A13 crash

The A13 westbound viewed from Orsett.

A CRASH on the Westbound A13 near North Stifford caused significant delays and a long tailback of traffic past Stanford-le-Hope.

Adjacent roads also became gridlocked around 8.15am as drivers sought alternative routes.

A police statement said: "

"At around 6.15am on Monday 18 May, officers were called to a collision involving three vehicles on the A13 Londonbound near Grays.

"Our response necessitated lane closures. These closures were lifted later that morning.

"One casualty required hospital treatment."
