AN application has been submitted to Thurrock Council for approval to turn a guest house in Corringham into a house of multiple occupancy, initially targeted at providing accommodation for students attending the town's highly-rated Performers' College.

The property in question is Gower Lodge, on Herd Lane.

As part of the application, a submission to Thurrock Council says: "Initially, the applicant intends to let the property to Performers' College students.

"However, the proposal is specifically not purpose-built student accommodation to allow for future flexibility to respond to the locality's potentially changing housing demands."
