A MESSAGE has been posted on social media asking for local people in the Corringham area to be vigilant in the hope that stolen equipment used by a guide dog might be recovered.

The items were stolen from a car parked at the Pegasus Club on Herd Lane in Corringham, this afternoon (Sunday, 14 February).

The car belongs to Sharon Partlett who says: "I had my car broken into this afternoon while parked at The Peg in Old Corringham for a 30 minute walk with my dog and my son's guide dog.

"Along with the smashed window and windscreen they took my son's bag that contained his guide dog's collar, tags and other guide dog documents.

"The low-lives must have been very disappointed once they opened it. In hope that it's been dumped somewhere as it is no value to anyone else apart from my son, I hope it might be found.

"The bag is a Ted Baker leather messenger style. If anyone comes across this please would you kindly let me know."

Sharon can be contacted via the Gardner Avenue Community & Neighbourhood Watch Facebook page.
