Gym doesn't fit the rules so may have to come down

ENFORCEMENT action on a new outbuilding, created to be a gym and and storage area at a Tilbury home, is to be taken.

It could mean the new building will have to be demolished - or reduced in size.

The building to the side and rear of a house at 51, Stephenson Avenue exceeds the size that Thurrock Council had been told it would be in an initial notification.

A breach in planning rules had already been established on the site where the large structure was used to house two dogs.

That prompted the retrospective application for the building but in the latest decision officers have declared the new building is too large and "impacts adversely on neighbouring dwellings, and results in detrimental impact to the amenities enjoyed by the immediate neighbour."
