HEALTH services in Thurrock will be reduced over the Christmas period but a full guide of what is available has been published by the borough's clinical commissioning group.

There are still services available every single day, from pharmacies to out of hours doctors, Thurrock's Health Hubs and NHS111.

There will be a continuation of the GP service at Orsett Hospital which will be available to book every day (except Christmas and Boxing Day) to provide a service for people over the festive holiday period. Minor Injuries can also help with all urgent health problems like minor burns, wounds and breaks.

Stephen Mayo, Deputy Chief Nurse at NHS Thurrock Clinical Commissioning Group said:

"We know that many people worry if they become ill over a bank holiday, that's why we've created this list of services that people can access no matter what day it is. What's more our Health Hubs will be open as normal on all the days of the festive break, except Christmas Day. A service will be available on Boxing Day and New Years Day if there is demand for it".

"Most of our services in Thurrock are able to help you with the majority of your health issues, whether that's minor injuries or an urgent health matter. For urgent health worries or other health enquiries contact NHS111, where you will be offered advice and any necessary medical attention."
