''Tis the season to be holey' - concern over 'monster' potholes

WET weather and recent freezing conditions have brought about a surge in the winter blight of potholes on Thurrock roads.

Residents and motorists have taken to social media to highlight some of the worst.

One very large crater has appeared on the M25 Junction 30 Roundabout close to the A13 exit, while the Dock Approach Road in Little Thurrock plays host to another that appears to be growing in size almost daily.

Local community activist Keith Harrington has warned about the danger it presents, saying: "I have stuck one of the 50 road cones Highways England have abandoned down by the Asda Roundabout in to the deep pot hole after witnessing two cars nearly being wiped out by HGVs in the outside lane after swerving to miss the hole in the spray from the rain.

"It's just before the Little Thurrock slip off."
