Increasing HGV traffic on Brentwood Road will be the focus of a meeting next month.

RESIDENTS are being urged to attend a meeting in February when the focus of attention will on the increasing number of HGVs using a busy road through Chadwell St Mary.

The town's community forum will be meeting on Thursday, 17 February in Emmanuel Church, Sleepers Farm Road starting at 7pm.

Police and councillors will be in attendance at the meeting when the main item on the agenda is the reported recent increase in HGV movements on Brentwood Road and the speed at which they are regularly travelling.

The issue had been raising concern in the area for some time and residents are being urged to attend the meeting to air their views and help the forum prepare a cohesive strategy to deal with the problem.

Ward councillor Sara Muldowney says: "Local councillors are well aware of the issues on Courtney Road and Morant Road and all the properties which face onto Brentwood Road.

"Sometimes, it is difficult to have a conversation on the doorstep with people in these roads due to HGVs rumbling by and speeding vehicles.

"Please come along to the next Community Forum meeting to find out how you can get involved in community action to make our streets safer."
