POLICE are probing a bizarre incident on the A13 when a lorry driver appeared to try and shunt a car off the carriageway as he approached the Dock Road turn off (A1089) heading east.

A statement from the Essex force says: "We are investigating following reports of an incident of the A13.

"The victim, who was driving a grey Ford Mondeo, reported that his car was bumped from behind and attempted to be forced from the road by an articulated lorry which continued towards Tilbury port.

"This occurred between 5.20pm and 5.25pm on Tuesday, 2 March. The driver was travelling on the eastbound track of the A13, near Orsett.

"We are investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote the incident number 42/39944/21. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously online via this link or call 0800 555 111.
