Teenager recovering after stabbing in Tilbury. Police call for information

POLICE have now called for witnesses and given an update on the condition of a man stabbed in Tilbury last night.

As reported yesterday (Sunday, 7 March) on Thurrock Nub News the emergency services responded to reports of a man who was attacked at a bus stop on Brennan Road in Tilbury, close to the junction with Portsea Road where a Co-op store is located.

A police statement says: "We were called to reports of an incident in Portsea Road, Tilbury, shortly after 5.35pm yesterday.

"It was reported to us that a man aged in his late teens had been stabbed in his leg outside a Co-op shop. He was taken to hospital for his injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing.

"A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.

"We believe this to be a targeted attack and there is no threat to the wider community.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information on it is asked to submit a report online at here where you can use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm. You can also call us on 101 and cite 42/40616/21."
