Hub event boosted coffers of cancer charity as community came together once more

By Nub News Reporter 29th Sep 2024

THE South Ockendon community came together to boost the coffers of a cancer charity.

Community activists in the area have recently thrown their weight behind the Macmillan charity's fundraising efforts and the latest event, a coffee morning held at South Ockendon Centre/Belhus Library, on Derry avenue, on Friday (27 September) was hailed a great success and £407 was raised.

The event was hosted by Belhus & Ockendon Community Forum and locally-based firm HW Wilson.

Wendy Curtis expressed thanks to HW Wilson and local volunteers

Event organiser Wendy Curtis said: "A big thank you must go to HW Wilson's staff and the volunteers of South Ockendon who provided their valuable help in order to make this happen."
