Incident causes closure of pub

A PUB in Stanford-le-Hope is closed today (Wednesday, 5 October) after an 'incident' overnight.

Details of what happened are scarce and the pub operators remain tightlipped, but have issued the following statement this morning: "We experienced a situation throughout the night at The Crooked Billet meaning the pub will be closed today.

"However, it looks like we are going to be okay as a business and we will be reopening our doors tomorrow."
