POLICE and the ambulance service attended an incident on Southend Road, Grays, yesterday (Wednesday, 2 March) when it was reported a pedestrian was in collision with a vehicle.

It happened around 4.30pm in an area around the pedestrian crossing close to the Tesco store.

The pedestrian crossing.

A statement from the East of England Ambulance service says: "We sent one ambulance to this incident but no transportation to hospital was required."

Residents and some businesses in the area have frequently complained about the lack of enforcement action in the area by people who park illegally to use shops in the area, narrowing the road and restricting access on pavements for pedestrians with buggies or wheelchairs.
