PARENTS and carers are being asked to play their part in plans to expand the age range at a Thurrock primary school.

Abbots Hall Primary Academy in Stanford-le-Hope has today launched a consultation about changes to its admission arrangements.

The proposal is to expand the school's age range from four to 11, to two to 11.

Head Laura James says: "As part of the consultation, we are required to inform the wider community and offer opportunities for people to make comments and share their views and we wish to receive views from a variety of stakeholder groups.

"All comments submitted will be considered before finalising the admission arrangements for September 2021.

"Our consultation launches today and will run for six weeks, closing on 31 January."

Comments on the consultation should be submitted either by mail to the school on Abbotts Drive, Stanford-le-Hope, SS17 7BW, or by email to [email protected].

As part of the consultation the school will be holding a virtual public consultation via Zoom on Thursday, 14 January between 4 and 4.45pm. The link for the meeting will be (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84777147497?pwd=MU9SQ0dSRXhGV1d5Z2YzRy9JZU1oZz09). Passcode: Abbots.

You can visit the school's website via this link or follow the school via its Facebook page.

Meanwhile, as the term ended at Abbots Hall, staff and pupils linked up with the Youth Creation dance group in Stanford to create a special end of year video presentation to lift spirits. You can watch it via our link.
