STUDENTS from Harris Academy Chafford Hundred have been working on modern foreign languages challenges during the pandemic.

This half term the students have been completing a cooking and baking challenge. The challenge has taken place over the last three weeks:

Week 1: A traditional dish;

Week 2: A traditional dessert;

Week 3: A cake to represent another country or culture.

The students have sent in a wide variety of meals, including paella, noodles, bread, mille-feuille, Kartoffelpuffer, strudel, tapas, crema catalana, tortilla, boeuf bourguignon and some excellent cakes to represent a range of cultures.

Natalie Kerin, Lead Practitioner and Teacher of German & Spanish said: "The students of Harris Academy Chafford Hundred have gone above and beyond with this challenge. My colleagues in the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department have been inundated with photos and updates from their students.

"As a result of this fantastic effort, there will now be a Federation-wide MFL Linguachef Challenge, which we hope will spur on the next generation of keen linguists and chefs!

"The students involved will be receiving certificates for their efforts, and we thank the parents and carers for being so supportive."
