James was on the road again for Barts

By Neil Speight 4th Oct 2020

AMONG many Thurrock residents taking part in today's (Sunday 4 October) virtual London Marathon was James Pinkerton who ran the event to raise funds for the Barts Charity.

Thurrock Nub News featured James earlier this year when he missed out on the actual event because it was postponed because of coronavirus but he repeated his efforts with another 26 mile plus run today, accompanied by his friend Tim Whitcombe.

He is running and fundraising as a way to say thank-you to St Barts and the Royal London Hospitals and the NHS Trust who treated his nephew, Archie Hallett.

Archie, son of James' sister Anna, was born with tracheo-oesophageal fistula and was unable to swallow and breathe for himself.

You can donate to James' fundraising efforts here.

The culmination of James' fundraising will come in March next year with a fundraising ball at Orsett Hall.
