A TILBURY woman's close shave has proved real boost for local people with mental health issues.

Earlier this year Jenny Sinclair, 37, pledged to have her head shaved to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation.

It was planned that the big event would take place on Tilbury's King George's Field (Daisy Field) last Saturday – but because of coronavirus Jenny arranged that the haircut took place at her home.

Afterwards Jenny, 37, said: "I had it done and had it shaved to a number two. So far I've raised just over £500 and still have more to collect. I had a raffle as well which contributed to the overall sum which I raised £145 so all went well.

"Half my life I have suffered mental health issues whether it be anxiety or depression. It's been hard battling my demons but I can finally say I am at a stage in my life where I want to be.

"I feel like it's my duty to help others around me get through their tough times as I have been in their situation and I understand them on a personal level.

You can still sponsor Jenny via her fundraising page here.
