Kaiser gets the bite on fleeing crooks again

A POLICE dog played a prominant role in the arrest of three teenagers in Tilbury after a moped was stole.
PD Kaiser has already got a reputation for catching criminals in the borough and he added to his haul yesterday (Friday, 20 June).
A police statement says: " We received a report of a robbery of a moped in Chadwell St Mary at 4pm on Friday 20 June.
"The victim had been threatened with a knife by a group of people who were also on mopeds.
"Local officers were able to track the group to Tilbury with the help of helicopter air support.
"At the same time, PD Kaiser and his handler approached the group from the other direction without them knowing and surprised them as they walked in grassland near Feenan Highway.

"But Kaiser didn't finish there. The crime-fighting PD was then able to lead his handler to a bush area off the pathway and uncovered a moped which we strongly believe to be stolen and will be returned to its owner as soon as possible.
"He also located a number of small bags believed to be a Class B drug as well as gloves and balaclavas.
"Three teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, robbery, criminal damage and drug offences.
"They remain in custody for questioning."
Chief Inspector Ella Latham said: "We will always respond robustly to reports of any weapon being used and these arrests are a testament to the work of officers from a number of different teams who are all committed to keeping our neighbourhoods safe – and tracking down the people who we believe are causing harm in them."
