THE clicking of needles and the natter of chatter were enjoyed by a group who met up at Grays' Wharf pub this morning (Saturday, 11 June) to share their skills and spread the word about the fast growing hobby championed by Olympic star Tom Daly.

The borough-based Needles and Chat group, organised by Susan Burns, were on hand for a day of knitting at the pub.

Susan and her group have been responsibile for many of the knitted items and rosettes that have decorated local features in recent months,m particualtly for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

And they wanted to show encouragement to anyone taking up the craft, inviting learner knitters and non-knitters to visit the pub and make contact.
