SHOPPERS at ASDA's Tilbury store were invited to be part of a party today (Saturday, 11 June) as it celebrated its 40th anniversary.

And the message has gone out to the local community that plenty of help and support is on hand for charities and good causes.

The store's community champion Kim Morgan was on hand today to welcome shoppers and also pass on a message to would-be beneficiaries. Anyone who would like to contact Kim can do so by calling Kim on 01375 855454 ext 222 or by email to [email protected].

Among those enjoying the day at Tilbury was Madeleine Farrow, who spoke of the friendship among members of the staff at the store that she has experienced over the four decades.

She who was among the first employees at the store and spent opening day looking after a display of cool boxes. Just to show that not everything changes – she recalls in her video how she was doing the same job just a couple of days ago, though she did point out they were not the same boxes!
