LAKESIDE Shopping Centre has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Charity Partner of the Year, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to supporting the local community and the meaningful causes that make a difference within it.

From today (7 April), Lakeside is inviting both charities and members of the public to nominate organisations local to the area that matter most to them via its online submission platform – giving the community a powerful opportunity to shine a spotlight on causes they care about.

The chosen charity will be selected to work closely with the centre in a year-long partnership.

The initiative puts the community at the heart of the decision-making process, empowering local people to help raise awareness and support for a cause close to home, while offering one charity a unique platform to connect with millions of visitors and benefit from a wide range of fundraising and engagement opportunities.

So, what is Lakeside Shopping Centre looking for? The iconic retail destination is inviting members of the community and third sector to put forward registered charities that:

• Are based and operate in Essex
• Could benefit from greater visibility and support
• Can provide onsite visibility at Lakeside on behalf of the organisation
• Be keen to support events and fundraising activities

The chosen charity will work closely with Lakeside and benefit from a full calendar of events, fundraising opportunities, and community engagements.

The partnership also includes onsite space within the centre, enabling the charity to connect directly with Lakeside shoppers and significantly boost its presence within the local community.
