Latest arrest in probe into truck deaths

THERE has been another arrest as police continue to investigate the deaths of 39 Vietnamese would-be illegal immigrants into the UK, whose bodies were found in Thurrock.

A 23-year-old man from Northern Ireland was arrested by officers from Thames Valley Police on behalf of Essex Police in the early hours of this morning (Friday, 22 November) on the M40 in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to traffic people and conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration and remains in custody.

One man has already been charged with manslaughter in connection with the deaths and a number of others have been arrested and remain under investigation.
