Libraries host Easter fun for youngsters

LIBRARIES across Thurrock have kicked off the Easter holidays with a range of spring-themed activities, and there's still plenty of fun for families to enjoy.
The sessions started on Monday, 7 April with children enjoying a range of entertaining activities including colouring, storytimes, and hands-on crafts like making their very own Easter basket.
For budding young artists, Grays Library is hosting colouring-in sessions on Monday, 14 April, from 10am to 10:30am and again from 3pm to 3:30pm.
The creative fun continues at East Tilbury Library on Tuesday, 15 April, with arts and crafts sessions at 10:30am and 2:30pm. Children will get the chance to make bunny pictures using leftover household items.
On Thursday, 17 April, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, Corringham Library will host a special craft session for children aged 4 to 8. Activities include making rabbit ear headbands, woolly sheep, and colourful Easter egg decorations.

For families looking for a more relaxed experience, libraries in Grays, Chadwell, East Tilbury, Blackshots, and Belhus are hosting storytimes, which offers little ones the chance to enjoy a good book and escape into the world of make-believe.
Cllr Valerie Morris-Cook, Cabinet Member for Community Partnerships, said: "It is great to know that our libraries are here to help provide fun for little ones and a bit relief for the parents, carers and grand-parents who are looking after them during the school holidays.
"There's such a range available that hopefully there's a bit of fun everyone can enjoy.
"I know from looking after my own grandchildren that it can sometimes be a challenge to find fun things to do on a low budget. They love building and making things, so I'm looking forward to seeing some of the bits other children in our borough create."
More information on the upcoming library activities can be found on the What's on at your library webpage.
