THURROCK resident Ian Chambers has completed a gruelling 100km walk from London to Brighton in under 24 hours, raising more than £1,200 for Thurrock-based charity 'Get Started Art'.

Ian, no stranger to charitable walks and a true community hero, took on this demanding challenge as part of the Ultra Challenge Series, pushing his physical and mental limits to help raise funds for a worthy local cause.

Get Started Art provides free arts and crafts materials and support to groups helping disadvantaged children, vulnerable adults, and individuals of all ages with learning disabilities or special needs in the Essex area. Their mission is to make creativity accessible to those who need it most.

A spokesperson for the charity said: "We are incredibly grateful to Ian for his effort and generous fundraising.

"The money raised will help us continue supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community through the power of creativity.

"Ian's determination and endurance serve as an inspiring example of how commitment and resilience can make a real difference in the community."
