Corringham Primary School and Nursery has celebrating after pupils excelled in this year's Standard Assessment Tests (SATs), surpassing national standards across all subjects.

In reading, mathematics, and writing students have performed exceptionally well, with 73% achieving scores above the national average. These outstanding results highlight the school's commitment to academic excellence and the effectiveness of its teaching strategies.

Exceptional Performance Across the Board:

●    Reading: A remarkable 88% of students achieved scores above the national average, demonstrating strong comprehension and analytical skills and placing the school in the top 13% of Primary schools nationally achieving these results for reading.

●    Mathematics: 78% of students exceeded national standards, showcasing their proficiency and problem-solving abilities.

Headteacher, Karina Garrick, expressed immense pride in the students' achievements, saying: "These results are a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our students. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to provide high-quality education and support, and it is wonderful to see this effort translated into such outstanding outcomes."

"These impressive results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of both students and staff and have steadily increased by 14% over the last three years following the appointment of a new leadership team in 2022.

"Parents and guardians have also been integral to this success, providing unwavering support and encouragement to their children throughout the academic year.

"The school's community spirit and collaborative approach have been key factors in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment."

Ms Garrick continued: "The school's success can be attributed to its innovative teaching methods and commitment to continuous improvement.

"Teachers at Corringham Primary School and Nursery employ a range of strategies to engage students and foster a love of learning. Interactive lessons, personalised support, and the integration of technology have all played a role in enhancing student performance.Alongside this we also ensure our children have a range of personal development experiences beyond the curriculum , for example our year six pupils take on leadership roles in the school, participate in a wide range of clubs and sporting activities, regularly visit museums, art galleries and undertake a residential visit to the Isle of Wight.

"We have recently won the Diversity Mark for Inclusion and our work around respect and tolerance, alongside the Eco-School's Green Flag award for our environmental focii. Our year six pupils have also single-handedly refurbished a pond and started a club to care for the fish.

" As Corringham Primary School celebrates these exceptional SATs results, the focus remains on sustaining and building upon this success as we anticipate the school being graded outstanding at its next inspection.

"We will be supported in this endeavour by the new trust we are joining in october, the Mossbourne Federation , who pride themselves in having schools ranked in the top three per cent nationally for their work with disadvantaged pupils."

Mossbourne CEO,Peter Hughes, said "These are significant achievements, which will have a lasting impact on the life chances of our pupils".
