Lorries and cars back up in Manorway area congestion

ROAD around the Manorway and on and off the A13 in the Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham area are reported to be gridlocked this morning.

Pictures taken by an HGV driver at around 8.45am show traffic at a virtual standstill on a number of roads. The congestion has been building since the early hours.

It is not known what caused the congestion, though some social media reports suggest a backlog at DP World London Gateway port. Drivers are advised to avoid the area for the ment.
