THE M25 remains closed clockwise and two lanes closed anti-clockwise between junction 29 (Romford) and junction 30 (Lakeside/Tilbury) following a single vehicle road traffic collision that happened just before midnight last night (Saturday, 8 May).
A fully signed diversion route is in place using the hollow triangle diversion symbol via the A127, A128 and A13.
Highways England is advising drivers to allow extra time for their journeys and plan ahead.
This incident involved a resurfacing vehicle that overturned, crossing the central reservation and spilling its load. Highways England and its contractors are working hard to reopen the road as soon as it is safe to do so. The clockwise M25 is expected to remain closed until the early evening as resurfacing takes place.
Two lanes remain closed on the anti-clockwise M25 until a temporary barrier can be installed in the central reservation. Narrow lanes will be installed with a temporary 50mph speed limit on the anti-clockwise to allow a third lane to reopen once the temporary barrier has been installed until permanent repairs can be carried out.
