A THURROCK youngster has shed her flowing locks to help other children and the charity that supports them.

Six-year-old Maisie Chapell has had 15 inches cut off her hair to donate to the Little Princess Trust in order for it to be made into a wig for children who have lost their hair due to having cancer treatment or another medical condition.

She has also been sponsored - so far raising £185 on her Just Giving page, smashing her initial £100 target. It's still open for donations.

Proud mum Laureen said: "My very own Rapunzel has decided to have 12 inches cut off her hair to donate to the little princess trust but we thought why not try and raise a little money whilst we're at it! Anyone who knows Maisies knows how much she loves her hair so this is no small decision for her!#

"I'm so proud of my little girl at the age of six wanting to give other children the chance of some happiness."
