Man held in prison as he awaits trial for charges relating to three Thurrock shop ram raids

A MAN from Tilbury who has been linked with the ram raid attacks on three Thurrock stores will remain behind bars as he awaits trial at Basildon Crown Court.

Mitchell Buckley, 33, of Feenan Highway, Tilbury, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court today (Monday, 21 March) where he faced two counts of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply; possession of a weapon for the discharge of noxious liquid or gas; and possession of prohibited ammunition.

Buckley also faced a charge of conspiracy to commit burglary. The charge relates to incidents alleged to have taken place In the early hours of both Thursday and Friday last week at Linford Food and Wine in Linford, Orsett Stores and the Moylers convenience store in Tilbury.

All three shop fronts were badly damaged after being rammed by a vehicle.

Buckley was remanded to HMP Chelmsford where he will be held until his appearance at Basildon Crown Court on 19 April.
