Man in court charged with causing the death of Grays' much-loved Gary Clark

A MAN has appeared in court charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of 40-year-old Gary Clark.

Mr Clark, from Grays, was assaulted in Southend Road, Grays, at about 12am on Monday 30 November, 2020. He died from his injuries on Tuesday, 1 December, 2020.

Alin Zaharia, 26, of Lenmore Avenue, in Grays, appeared in Basildon Crown Court today (Monday, 6 September) and denied one count of manslaughter.

He is next due to appear at the same court for a trial preparation hearing on November 21.
