Man recovering in hospital after being cut from A13 crash

POLICE have reported the man cut free from a crash scene that blocked the A13 for several hours yesterday (12 October) is recovering in hospital.
The man was extracted from the mangled wreckage of a car shoved underneath a HGV by another lorry in a multi vehicle collision.
Police originally reported two people had been seriously injured but have now confirmed it was just one.
A statement says: "We were called to reports of a collision on the Londonbound A13 at the junction with the M25 at around 6.45am.
"A car and a lorry had been in collision.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing. "The road was closed while we investigated but was re-opened at around 1pm.
