Man recovering in hospital after being cut from A13 crash

POLICE have reported the man cut free from a crash scene that blocked the A13 for several hours yesterday (12 October) is recovering in hospital.

The man was extracted from the mangled wreckage of a car shoved underneath a HGV by another lorry in a multi vehicle collision.

Police originally reported two people had been seriously injured but have now confirmed it was just one.

A statement says: "We were called to reports of a collision on the Londonbound A13 at the junction with the M25 at around 6.45am.

"A car and a lorry had been in collision.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"The road was closed while we investigated but was re-opened at around 1pm.

"If you saw anything or have any dash cam footage please call us on 101 quoting incident 129 of 12 October or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
