AVELEY Christmas market was a success with approximately 2,000 people attending through the four hours it was open.

Young and old alike, enjoyed the varied stalls, the entertainment and friendly atmosphere.

Children particularly liked the trampoline/bungee ride plus the numerous toys, tombolas and treats for sale.

There were festive offerings; from food like cakes, candy floss and chocolate, to non-perishable items like cards, clothes and cups.

Numerous charity and community advice stalls were there to give advice, information and general support.

Police said there were no incidents to report on and community spirit was very evident.
