WALKERS from Grays successfully completed their charity trek in aid of the Clic Sargent charity yesterday (Saturday, 1 August).

As reported on Thurrock Nub News the five walkers set out from Morrisons in Grays to walk to the sister store in Corringham and they completed the ten mile trek in just under four hours.

One of the event organisers, Grays Morrisons store community champion Tarnya Bennett, said: "It was hard work, I didn't really think there were hills between Grays and Corringham but they seemed very long one in the midday heat.

"However, we made it and thanks to all our supporters and for the warm welcome at Corringham."

Borough mayor Cllr Terry Piccollo was on hand at Corringham to welcome and thank the walkers and congratulate them on beating their fundraising target. The aim was to raise £200 and that was achieved during the walk as people contibuted, but you can still make your donation .here
