EXPANDED facilities at a borough GP practice are among a number of improvements publicised by the county-wide Essex Integrated Care Board.

The board, which plans, funds, and manages NHS health services, says patients across Essex are set to benefit from new, expanded or improved GP surgeries as work continues to improve access to local primary care services.

It says the past 12 months have seen 11 GP premises schemes have been completed across Essex, with a further two now under construction. Building on this progress, NHS Essex is supporting 17 further schemes alongside other proposals at an earlier stage of development.

There is just one scheme on its books in Thurrock - which is self-funded by the practice landlord.

Chafford Hundred Medical Centre will be extended to provide additional clinical space with work due to begin later this year. It is hoped the extension will be completed by autumn 2027.
