POLICE officers, ambulances, the air ambulance and a fire service crew responded to an emergency call around 7pm following an incident at the Ingrebourne Quarry on Buckingham Hill Road near Linford last night (Wednesday, 23 September).

Crews from all services were initially misdirected and sought access to the quarry via Butts Lane and the Maple Park housing estate in Stanford-le-Hope.

Closure of Walton's Farm Road did not help direction finding either, but ultimately, they arrived at the site, where access was gained through the locked entrance after a short time. The incident then became ambulance service led and police and fire officers left the scene.

Medical teams gave assistance to a man injured in a fall, though full circumstances of the incident have not been disclosed.
