Memorial bench vandalised again

VANDALS have returned for a second time to damage a memorial bench placed by a local cricket pitch in tribute to a much-loved resident.

In July Thurrock Nub News reported on the first attack on the bench, erected in tribute to Charlie Dowsett, and the positive response of the community as it was repaired.

However, in the past 24 hours the bench has once again been targeted by vandals who have smashed a number of its slats. The discovery of the state of the bench earlier today (Thursday, 23 September) has again infuriated residents, who have vowed once again to respond in a positive fashion.
