Memories can be found at library exhibitions mounted by team of volunteers

FOLLOWING on from 'War in the Sky' the next exhibition in the Thameside Gallery produced by its vilunteers is 'Thurrock at Sea' which opens on Saturday, 16 September and closes on Friday, 20 October at 11am.

This exhibition looks at sea warfare in World War II and in particular the contribution of individual Thurrock men and women. 

It will include the roles of the Royal Navy and Merchant Navy, Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS), convoys, the siege of Malta, and Tilbury Docks.

Future exhibitions for 2023/24 are:

Armistice – Saturday 4 November to Friday 17 November

Christmas 1943 – Saturday 9 December to Friday 5 January

Make Do and Mend – Saturday 20 January to Friday 16 February

D-Day Landings (80th anniversary) – Saturday 25 May to Friday 28 June
