Thurrock Council is delivering the Essenential Living Fund

THURROCK Council has issued details of more funding that is available to help vulnerable households across the borough.

The funding will be used to provide essential support to households most in need including:

£720,000 allocated to provide free school meals in the two-week Easter break and the six-week school summer holiday

£1.87m to provide help for households in financial hardship through the Essential Living Fund, which includes help with utility bills.

The Essential Living Fund, which launched last year, is open to households that receive benefits or are living on a low income, applications are open to all and money from the fund can be used to pay for essentials including food, clothes, utility bills, furniture and white goods.
