RESIDENTS in East Tilbury can enjoy even greater access to their local library following changes to opening times.

East Tilbury Library and Hub is now open on Wednesdays and stays open later — until 7pm — giving greater access for those who find it difficult to visit during traditional office hours.

In another change, the library no longer closes for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, meaning visitors can drop in whenever it suits them throughout the day.

Saturday hours will remain the same, continuing to offer a convenient weekend option for residents.

New Opening Hours

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: 10am – 5pm
  • Wednesday: 10am – 7pm
  • Thursday: 10am – 5pm
  • Friday: Closed
  • Saturday: 10am – 1pm
  • Sunday: Closed

A council spokesperson said: "These improvements are part of the council's ongoing commitment to delivering a modern, flexible library service that meets the needs of communities across the borough.

"Library staff are always keen to hear from residents about how their local branch can better serve them — from new activities and events to services and resources.
